Moscow's Domodedovo airport has been awarded ISAGO certification.
The award confirms compliance of the airport’s ground handling procedures with safety standards set by IATA and will be valid until June 4, 2018. In 2012, Domodedovo actually became the first Russian airport to have passed IATA’s audit in all ground handling areas.
According to the rules of the audit, the check on compliance with international standards is carried out by an ISAGO Pool Member airline. This time Domodedovo was audited by highly qualified specialists from British Airways. IATA rules suggest that the airport singlehandedly chooses sections of the standard to be checked. Having demonstrated a systemic approach to safety and quality of ground handling operations, Moscow's Domodedovo selected a comprehensive assessment of the ground handling system on all the components connected with the ISAGO standard.
